I had the privileged since I was the 'matron of honor' for my sister Rachelle's wedding to plan her bridal shower. We had a little garden/tea party theme. I asked all the guests to bring a recipe on a 3x5 recipe card of their favorite dish or dessert.
Here are more photos of the finished project...
I made this recipe box from a Provo Craft Mini Lunch Tin. I used a scrapbook paper kit I found at Michaels craft store and a Stampin'Up recipe stamp set. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out!!
I stamped the recipe card on some white cardstock and scanned it into my computer. I added in the "{ }" the word 'marriage' and at the top it says 'from the kitchen of' the idea is that everyone write a recipe for a good marriage to Rachelle. These went in the recipe box as well along with the recipes the guests brought.
These are the stamps I used. You can get them online at www.stampinup.com

Hi,
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of giving guests recipe cards, especially when they are that adorable. Thanks...
Recipe Cards
I tried to find these stamp kits and was unable to on their web site, any suggestions.?
ReplyDeleteI just checked it is there :) The name is "From The Kitchen Of" and it is under wood mounted stamps in elements I believe :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your help.... however seems the tin is no where to be found... well at least the mini tin isn't.
ReplyDeleteI did buy them a few years ago. You could do this with the regular tin as well. I can not remember where I got them. I will look around and see if I can find them..
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your help so much...I am trying to do this for my soon to be daughter in law and would love to somehow pull off a vintage look... but I have no scrapbook experience nor supplies... so I am going into this blind... SMILE!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I have to do 3x5 because the invitations I picked are 5.25X5.25 so even though I would rather do the 4x6 cards they won't fit... darn it...
ReplyDeleteI am so sad.. I can not find the tins anywhere!! I would check your local Joanns or Michaels if anything... I know that I have seen them at Michaels a while ago... So sad :( If not, I know Michaels has recipe boxes in the $1.00-$1.50 section. You could always use one of those... sigh I am sorry about that
ReplyDeleteIt's okay I am so glad you even tried looking for me, I appreciate that very much!!
ReplyDeleteThose recipe card holders are really good to preserve your recipe cards.
