WOW! These nutrition facts SHOCKED me!

So A friend of mine started selling epicure, if you are unfamiliar with epicure it is a Canadian run and owned business (home based business opportunities) they sell spices, dip mixes, and even pots and pans!! I love them! The products (spices and dips) are SOO good for you, all natural and not packed with preservatives etc. I was having a party to support her shortly after she signed up and my mom and I were chatting about what she was going to order. I told her to try the Beef Bouillon and Chicken Bouillon, I find you need to add a little extra but its really good! My mom proceeded to say she usually feels really yucky after making Beef Barley Soup and we started discussing sodium content etc... So I decided to post these on here because the results from our discovery are shocking!!

I am going to compare Knorr Brand with Epicure Brand If you click on either link you can see the results for yourself, ingredients and nutrition facts are stated on both websites!!

I put this table together myself! Hope you enjoy! I am so sorry about the quality, I tried copying the table into the blog and it was far too big.. so click the images (there are 3 different ones) for larger view or scroll down to the link to the PDF file

I have a PDF version of the table I made up you can download here

Notice the Daily value of sodium for each product! Epicure does not go above 4% daily value for any of their Bouillon mixes! The Knorr Beef Bouillon cubes sodium is 54% daily value!! THAT’S NUTS! Notice that these Nutrition facts are all for different amounts ranging from 2.8g – 6g even still the Epicure brand is MUCH lower in sodium content!! Also notice that I made Monosodium Glutamate BOLD in each ingredient category it fell under… (Notice it is not in any EPICURE columns!) Monosodium glutamate also known as MSG is known to cause serious side effects in some people. I am one who can not have MSG without feeling like GARBAGE after! Thus the main reason for me purchasing spices, dip mixes and bouillon from Epicure...Here are some MSG facts

So just food for thought about reading labels and nutrition facts!! There are alternatives to putting garbage in our bodies!!

I know this isn't craft based but it is part of me being a mommy and wife! I hope this information was useful to you!! NOTE I am not affiliated with either of these companies... just want to share what I discovered with other moms and wives out there! All information was found on the Knorr Website and Epicure Website All ingredients and nutrition facts can be found on both websites!

Thanks for visiting!!

My Nook Color Case

I am a HUGE fan of Etsy, I love to purchase things on Etsy, sell things on Etsy and find inspiration on Etsy. As I mentioned in my last post I purchased a Nook Color on Ebay! I can not wait for it to arrive!! I was looking for cases and cover ideas and came across this Etsy Store called Birdiful Stitches She has 3 different patterns for iPads and e-readers! Her patterns come with measurements or templates for the Kindle, I pad, nook and Kobo... I purchased these two

I started one last night after putting the kids to bed and finished it up today. It is not perfection at all but I wanted to do a trial run with some cheap fabric I got at Wal-Mart ages ago and then make some other ones for gifts and possibly to sell. The great thing about Birdiful Stitches is her patterns are not for personal use only. She encourages you to make tons!

So here is my final project :) I had fun making it.
I really don't care for the fabric on the inside of the case but again it was my trial run :) I had fun! I love the pockets too!! The tutorials are easy to follow and so fun to make!! I can not wait to make more!!

Thanks for visiting :)

A little update on my decision... I have decided not to invest in the Imagine for now... I have thought about it a ton! Tossed back and forth pros and cons and figured if I am not 100% positive then I probably should not make the purchase... Honestly I am feeling great about my decision. As great as the Imagine is, I do not NEED it :)

So moving on... I actually invested in another "toy"
About a month ago I came across a blog post that got me excited! putting your Cartridge handbooks on an iPad or I reader... Now that I have the gypsy, if I was able to do this... my load I would have to take to a crop would be greatly reduced!! Then about a couple weeks ago I did Session 3 of my Cricut classes I offer in my city. One of the ladies had purchased a Pandigital 9" e-reader from Costco for $209.99 (Canadian) She said she was able to surf the web and do all those things like an iPad without the extreme cost of an iPad. Now I know it doesn't do all the amazing things an iPad can do but for what you would really "need" you could get away with an e-reader.

So my personality is to do research on something I am interested in.. do a little investigating. I did some research on the Pandigital and then came across some other tablets and e-readers such as the Samsung Galaxy tab (a bit pricey) , Kindle, Kobo, Sony reader, and many more... Then I came across the nookcolor by Barnes & Noble although a little more pricey than the Pandigital the quality was better and there were some selling features that got me excited! One of the main features was the Children's books! My daughter LOVES books... whenever we go out to eat or go visit friends or family we pack a bag of books and some princess dolls. (her two favorite things) I love that with the nook there are interactive children's books with the ability to have them read to her or we can read them together. VERY COOL! So after reading MANY reviews and features, watching a ton of reviews and comparisons I decided this is the one I am going to go with :)

So I have been watching ebay closely (since the nook color can not be shipped to Canada) I was able to find a LIGHTLY, and I mean LIGHTLY used nook color. I was able to purchase the nook for a great price and am excited for it to arrive.

Note, I am not JUST getting this toy for me, it is for my family! My kids will love reading children's books and even watching movies when we travel on the nook! My husband and I will enjoy reading books and magazines too! I am really excited for the future vacations we go on and the ability to pack light when it comes to what to bring for the kids to do! My kids both enjoy books (even my 11 month old)

The first thing (or one of the first things) I will do when I receive the nook is put my Cricut handbooks on it! I am working on a little project for my new toy... I will post when It is done. :) So check back in the next couple days :)

To "Imagine" or Not....

I have been tossing back and forth the idea of purchasing the Cricut Imagine. I have said in the past once they lower the price I will probably get it... Now that they have (CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS) I am stumped.. I have tossed the pros, the cons, the should, the shouldn't... sigh

I know I would love it, and especially now that it is compatible with the Gypsy. I am fearing I am becoming a Cricut addict.
Here are my Pros
- The ability to print and and cut (I think I would love this for the paper dolls cartridges)
- Cute Imagine Cartridges
- Compatible with all my cartridges
- Compatible with the Gypsy
- Make Crafting/Scrap booking easier
- Ability to learn the new product :)
- The imagine receives updates, like the gypsy

Here are my Cons
- Although the $200 price drop (now $299 + S&H) Still pricey
- Ink cartridges running out and the price to buy them..
- Some of the design capabilities aren't as they were maybe projected to be
- Size of the machine (doesn't REALLY bug me but it is a "con")
- Can not use with computer

I would love your opinions,... Let me know what you think, if you have one do you have buyers remorse... I would love some help!
